Every complex tree extraction is engineered around load calculations, anchor point integrity, and property preservation. Below are real field photographs from operations led by Mark Wm. Skowron (Owner since January 1980 & Centereach FD Engine Co. 3 Firefighter).
Uprooted Mature Pine Across Metal Roof & Front Porch
Saturated coastal soil and severe storm gusts caused this massive pine to heave from its root plate and crash directly onto the home’s metal roof ridge and front porch overhang. Mark stabilized the upturned root ball to prevent roll-back, rigged the upper canopy in balanced sections, and lifted the trunk clear of the roof trusses with zero secondary structural damage.

Featuring Morning Star Tree Company’s heavy crane truck (“MORNING STAR TREE Co. • 1-888-Tree Doc”) set on hydraulic outriggers alongside our Altec aerial bucket lift and Bobcat MT100 mini track loader. By combining high-reach aerial picks with compact turf-friendly loaders, we extract multi-ton timber from tight residential lots without rutting lawns.
Negative-Blocking Spar Rigging & Stainless Port-A-Wrap Control
When dismantling tall hardwoods next to homes and driveways, every section is snubbed through a basal stainless-steel Port-A-Wrap friction bollard (pictured right with Chief Stump Inspector Capri!) while our ground crew feeds brush directly into our high-capacity Morbark drum chipper.
CASE #MS-104 // MONUMENTAL TIMBER & SUB-GRADE STUMP MILLING
60-Inch Hollow Oak Removal & Smart-Sweep Sub-Grade Grinding
Old-growth oaks frequently conceal massive internal heartwood rot (left: Mark standing inside the hollowed-out base of a giant oak after safe sectional removal). Following takedown, our commercial Smart-Sweep hydraulic stump grinder mills the entire root flare 8–14 inches below grade.
